Each area has its own particular list of birds, which make up a total of 360 species including 40 endemics. These natural areas are: wetlands and aquatic environments, Patagonian steppe, Andean forest, high-Andean steppes, grasslands, sea coast and rural areas. In the northwest corner of Patagonia, we have the great possibility of covering all the different regions in less than 600 km.

Chapelco is a rock massif stretching for more than 20 km from San Martin de los Andes to Meliquina Lake. It has a volcanic origin, made of basaltic rocks that were later carved by the action of the glaciers. We will trek from 1.200 to 1.800 m reaching the upper story of the Patagonian forest and the high-Andean grasslands. There we will enjoy amazing views and have good opportunities for high Andes endemic species.

Birding and nature photography tour covering all the natural environments of the Lake District: Patagonian forest, wetlands & aquatic environments, Patagonian steppe, high Andes and rural areas. You will have the chance to see 150 different bird species, with more than 20 endemics. Starting in Bariloche we will go birding by the Seven Lakes Route to San Martin de los Andes, where we will spend 3 nights. From San Martin we will go birding to Lanin National Park, the Chapelco massif and the Urban Natural Reserve. On the last day we will cross the Collon Cura River valley, probably the most important birding hotspot in Patagonia, before returning to Bariloche, where we will end our tour.

Easy hike around this gorgeous lagoon in Lanín National Park, minutes away from San Martin de los Andes. Along the way we will go through several environments: open areas of transition from steppe to forest with prevalence of shrubs and grasslands, Patagonian forest patches and meadows and aquatic environments in the lagoon and its surrounding areas. If the weather is good, we will enjoy a picnic by the lagoon.

Drive through the Patagonian steppe to the base of Lanín Volcano. Near the National Park entrance, we will find the first patches of Monkey-puzzle Trees (Araucaria araucana) with impressive views of the volcano in the background. Araucaria is an endemic conifer, well adapted to the volcanic soils of northern Patagonia. We will follow the course of Malleo River up to the volcano base. There, we will leave the vehicle to hike on the trails of the area.

Probably the most important hotspot in north Patagonia, for the great amount species that can be found. Aquatic environments surrounded by shrubs and grasslands. and with the presence of many species from the pampas. We will follow the course of Collon Cura river for more than 40 km, stopping at some key spots where we can find many Patagonia endemics mixed with some species from the Pampas that are expanding their distributions ranges through the river valleys.

Cotesma Natural Reserve protects a series of lagoons and a part of Maipú River in La Vega Plana Meadow, a partially urbanized area in San Martín de los Andes. This meadow plays and important roles on the hydrological regulation of the Lácar Lake basin, including the valley where the town is located. The lagoons and wetlands provide a suitable habitat to the local fauna, especially birds.

The tour for the marine wildlife lovers. We will cover most of the Patagonian Atlantic coast, watching whales, seals, dolphins, penguins, cormorants... From Trelew, we will go to Peninsula Valdes, where the largest colony of Southern Right Whale breeds every year. In Punta Tombo, we will visit the biggest colony of Magellanic Penguin on Earth. In Bahia Bustamante, we will stay in an authentic Patagonian ranch and then finish in Puerto Deseado, following Darwin's footsteps, who in 1834 went upriver and was left fascinated by its landscapes and fauna.

Birding Tour covering the best hotspots of the Patagonian coast. From Comodoro Rivadavia, we will drive south to Puerto Deseado, on the estuary that captivated Darwin during his exploration of the Patagonian coast back in 1833. We will take a boat to Penguin Island to visit the only breeding colony of Rockhopper Penguin near the continent. We will continue to Campament Darwin, a fantastic lodge built over the old house of an authentic Patagonian ranch. There we can go birding on different ecosystems: marine, intertidal, wetlands, steppe. Finally, we will drive north to Bahía Bustamante, another Patagonian ranch surrounded by the Southern Patagonia Marine National Park.
